I'll tell you something I've wondered on for a long time. Since the celestial bodies have had such an intense and overbearing affect on how we have evolved (for starters, our sleep/wake cycle and human reproductive cycles due to the two main bodies, the sun and moon), isn't it a bit arrogant to reject out-of-hand that these and other bodies have no effect upon our growth and behaviors?
Consider that the basic argument runs A. Astrology is "magic", B. Magic doesn't exist, C. Astrology doesn't exist. Yet the things I've cited above are not magic, and did and do exist.
Few doubt the electron, but have never seen it. We accept the theory because it generally works and we have no better theory to replace it. Now, disregarding historical evidence, since I have no idea whether any exists except to say that a great many people in many far-flung cultures have believed in forms of astrology since ancient times, shouldn't the lasting success of the Reagan myth, against all evidence to the contrary, point to at least the possibility that he had some "magic" on his side?
Oh, I don't condemn the use of oracles out of hand, and in fact I've been known to defer to them myself.
I was merely pointing out that cowpersons don't consult astrologers. Neither do they practice yoga, eat sushi, or drive Priuses with bumper stickers on them that say "War is NOT the answer."
