green & clean

Vermont is a very small state, the second least populous and geographically the sixth smallest of the 50 in area. However, Vermont's state government is leading the way in environmental law, and this past week banned fracking within its borders.

With a 103-36 vote in the House of Representatives, Vermont on Friday became the first state to ban hydraulic fracturing to extract oil or natural gas. The bill passed the Senate earlier this week.
